Read more >>Getaway, Relax & Unwind to Finger Lake where you will find lakeside log cabins & RV Campsites at affordable rates, excellent trout fishing and exclusive access to Finger Lake and the surrounding wilderness.

Finger Lake is a 9 Km long narrow lake to the depth of 60 feet with 4 islands stretched down the center so you are never far from a shoreline.

Finger Lake rewards the angler with wild rainbow trout to 5 pounds, kokanee salmon, and a very high catch frequency of tasty pan fry's to 2 pounds. Trolling small spinners with or without a willow leaf is very productive. Using a sink tip or full sink with dragon fly nymphs, doc spratleys or popular leach patterns are just as rewarding.

The high catch frequency, no size limit, no bait or gear restrictions make this a great family fishing destination where "Kids Catch Fish!" A six year old, holds the current record off the main dock, a 3-pound trout. There are two docks, both a short walk from your cabin or campsite.

Expect great fishing from ice-off in mid May right to the end of October. Pick up a depth map at the on-site store, which sells licenses, lures, flies and bait. Paddleboats, canoes or aluminum boats with motors are available for rent.

Many people make Finger Lake their Base Camp where you truly can "Fish a Lake a Day, the length of your stay!" Surrounding Lakes in the area are - Arthur, Tatuk, Lavoie, Hay, Secord, Glutien, Dutien, Knewstubb, Hobson, Chief Grey (Bitch), Citcuta (Rum Cache), Lucas, Chutanli, Kuyakuz and the head waters of the Nechako Rivers at Cheslatta falls.

Some of these locations are trophy catch and release lakes. This October one of these lakes produced a 28-inch wild rainbow estimated to be 10 to 12 pounds. It was caught and released and is still waiting for you. Others are hike in, float tube only type lakes. Some of the ATV accessible lakes have boats on location. Many lakes in this area have continuous action in the 2-pound range.

Check out their web site www.FingerLakeResort.com for more information.

Finger Lake and the surrounding area is a fisherman's dreams come true.

Finger Lake holidays can be taken with the emphasis on wildlife & nature photography and/or hiking, canoeing, camping instead of just fishing. << Less

The scenic Cut-off-Butte, Nechako Canyon or historic Cheslatta Trails invite the hiker to explore the beautiful backcountry. Canoe trips of various lengths and different skill levels start and end at Nechako Lodge.
We can provide the perfect secluded atmosphere for your next workshop or business retreat with a meeting room and all other facilities made available year round and exclusively to your group.
A family operation for over 20 years, we, Josef and Elisabeth Doerig, are personally looking after the wellbeing of our guests. Anytime from May to October is perfect to enjoy the warm hospitatlity, mouthwatering food, spectacular scenery, and professional services of NECHAKO LODGE & AVIATION.
At Nechako Lodge we are always striving to lower our carbon footprint. 5-years ago we installed our first wind generator that was followed in 2008 with a second one. Each 3.5 KW generator sits on top of a 140 ft tower, and together they produce over 60% of our power needs. We switched our hot water production from propane to wood by integrating the boiler's heat exchanger into the outdoor wood furnace heating system. Waste wood that would otherwise be burnt in piles on logging blocks is used to fuel the furnace. << Less

Read more >>Located in Finger-Tatuk Provincial Park on the Nechako Plateau, Tatuk Lake Resort offers its guests a true wilderness experience with all the comforts of modern living.
Whether it's exploring the numerous lakes in the area to sample the first class fishing, hiking the hills, wildlife viewing, photography, canoeing, snowmobiling, hunting in the fall or simply getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Tatuk Lake Resort can accommodate you. With six fully modern all-season cabins and a shower house you won't have to give up the comforts of home as you relax and take it all in. Camping sites are available and our large lawn in the front of the resort can easily accommodate large groups.
Starting in May, action on our local lakes heats up for the local Rainbow trout and Kokanee Salmon and continues through the summer months into the fall. Due to our elevation the lakes fish well where as lower elevation lakes will go through the "Doldrums". Hobson, Lavoie, Chief Gray, Arthur, Hay, Kobes, Finger, Tatuk and Thomas lake are but a few of the lakes in the immediate area that offer the ardent angler the opportunity to catch trout, in some cases up to 10 lbs. Fly-fisherman will experience great hatches all summer and family groups will have no trouble getting children and first timers into fish. Boat rentals are available and tackle can be purchased at the store on the main lodge.
Hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography opportunities are available as the natural scenery is unique and encounters with resident wildlife are common. Grizzly bears are prevalent in the fall as they move into the area adjacent to the resort to feed on the Kokanee Salmon. Whether walking the local woods or paddling the shores of the area lakes from a canoe you will truly get a sense of aloneness in the true natural beauty the local area has to offer. << Less
